I'm reading plenty about psychology as of late. I'm reading the modern seminal title Social Intelligence, which seeks to explain how our thinking brain and our emotional brain interact. I've only just started the book and I'm already digging the evolutionary view of emotions. In short, Goleman suggests that our emotions evolved primarily to aid in survival and reproduction over the course of tens of thousands of years. Those emotions haven't exactly caught up to this new 'society' that we've developed.
