Free air conditioners!!!
A lot of people in this building( which is a subsized rent buildng for the elderly and disabled) including me, are going to get free new air conditioners. All we have to do is provide a letter from a doctor or primary care giver stating that an air conditioner is beneficial to our health and proof of income. I've had a used air conditioner though that I got when I first moved into this building a little more than 11 and a half years ago for $50.00 that works as well and has lasted longer than some people's new air conditioners. But since I was offered a new air conditioner, I couldn't turn it down. I mean I don't know how much life this has left in it.
I also got my groceries delivered today by Heinen's Supermarket. Getting only 4 hrs. sleep so I could be up and prepared in time, and, putting the groceries away played havoc with my back, ribs, side and neck though. That and working on this computer - heck everything hurts me - that's how bad shape I'm in.
I was talkng with a nurse at the V.A. yesterday (over the phone) and she said cervical disk degeneration is like having arthritis in the neck. And yes, cervical is the correct word. There's a second definition that applies to the cervix.
P.S. Cervix can apply to both the back part of the neck and the female cervix.

I may not get the new air conditioner after all. These air conditioners here are are in the wall air conditioners. And the air conditioners this organization has to offer are window air conditioners. And I have a sliding window instead of a double-hung window that you push up and down. So, it doesn't look promising

depending on the width of the wall it goes into and how much they care about looks, you can always install a window AC that way, but you'd remove the (unscrewable) pieces that are used for spacers.
