Cervical disk degeneration
I went again to the V.A. today and saw my primary care giver, She is very good. (I had already been through emergency for about a 4 hr. wait. I took paratransit for that but for this I had to take a cab because paratransit has to have at least a 2 day notice and this was only a 1 day notice.) Anyway my primary care provider talked with.me, examined me and scheduled about 20 x rays - I'm not joking. Then, before I got home, she called and left a message telling me to call and talk to a nurse with whom she had left a message for me..
The nurse said that the x rays showed no physical trauma - meaning no broken bones - from my fall. But she also said I had cervical disk degeneration in my neck - mostly from aging - but that the fall could have put a strain on that.
My primary care physician wants me to take the muscle relaxers only when I feel muscle spasms or tightening so that I don't become dependent on them for sleep. She wants me to take ibuprofen and tylenol on a regular basis so that they build up to a certain effective level in my system.
I have been suffering from severe, agonizing, debilitating neck pain.
I have to go grocery shopping pretty soon. The nurse I was talking to didn't think that was a good idea but I can see no way out of it. I can wait for a little while, but then I will need to go shopping - for both me and my cat.
And it's not just neck pain, there is bruising in my ribs and back which is also very painful.
Also, my primary care physician wants me to or advises physical therapy for my neck. I personally don't want to but I may go through with it anyway.
It is still not a sure thing that the V. A. will pay for my initial 911 care at the Lakewood Hospital, and EMS
Well that's my update on my condition, if anybody's interested. Take care y'all.

Thanks for the happy birthday. Slowly, but surely, I'm catching up with you - last week, I was 63.9% of your age, but this week I'm over 65.5%.
