Murder, Fire and Heartaches
Muder, fire and heartahes
Horrible acts of man against man
Terrible acts of God
Why, Why, oh Why ... ?
And this isn't something new
This has been going on since the beginning of man
9 million people were slaughtered
And treated like objects during WWII
Because of one man's, one group of men's terrible vision
Earthquakes, hurricanes, volcanoes, etc.
Hydrogen bombs, wars
Killing, mutilating millions
Slavery, genocide
Why?
I don't know; I don't know why
All I know is either it stops
Sometime, Sometime soon!
Either it stops
Or all life except for cockroaches
Will end on this good Earth
Unless the power of Love
Love, that is supposed to be so powerful
Affect and worms its way into the hearts of all of us ----
Includng God
Who I, without a doubt, believe in
But is God Love?
Is He; Is She?
Love, oh I love love
Love makes me feel so! good
Hatred
Gouges at my very soul
And leaves sores and scars
That keep getting picked at by more
Hate
I know, I have hatred inside me, too
We all have
But there is also Love,
Sweet Heavenly Love
Inside me, inside us
But I need love from outside me too
From other people to make me feel and
Help me nurture that love
Maybe, somehow, that's the answer:
If we would all stop being so stingy and precious with our love
Christ said: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you
But we don't
There's always a villain or villains
Someone or someone's deserving of our hatred
Someones who need to be hurt, punished, killed
Whih just leads to more
Murder, Fire and Heartaches
And, God, do You love me?
God, do You Love all of us?
Then please, please God:
Show me, show us
That You are truly a Loving God
And please? Put an end to
All these Murders, Fires and Heartaches
Murders, Fires and Heartaches
Murder Fire and Heartaches ...
Note: This is my very latest poem. I had been trying for sometime
to write it (it was inspired by international, national and local events)
but the final piece of inspiration(unfortunately) that I needed was the
Virginia Tech killings.

Chris this is a great poem, sorry for being late, but i had to translate many words. Probably i'll say something that seems my grandma's thought, but i really think that we have to love God (every kind of thing you can call "God"), and not only claim. Think about how many people has been murdered in the name of God (every God!!), but this is not what He would like, i think!!! So, as you said in the poem about war, we can only "fight" to let Love win, better if before 2089!!!
