26 days 'til Sleater-Kinney at Irving Plaza, eeeee! It's April, kids, and hopefully that means nice ass weather is on the way. I'm trying to be as optimistic as possible about things even though I feel ultra-lousy. I'm just going to pretend everything's great until it eventually is, because it's no fun being depressed.
So, today was good and bad. I'll start with the bad so I can end on a good note. My father called me to tell me he's taking me to court regarding the $40,000+ he owes to my mother (now me) and how/when/if he's going to pay it. I told him I'm getting my own health insurance through work instead of him (he changes jobs more frequently than he changes his underwear) and he said "That's a great idea. I honestly had no idea what I was going to do about you."
He hasn't known "what to do about me" for the past 20 years...
Then I heard Eric and Lauren are now officially a couple. Last I heard he wasn't ready to date yet, so I was a little knocked on my ass to hear her referred to as his "girlfriend." I want to be happy, I want to be unaffected by the whole thing. I'm not either of those things though. "Give it time." I know.
So upon hearing that, I went to the mall to buy myself a gift to make myself feel better (side note: I've been doing that an awful lot lately, and my bank account is draining rather quickly). I found some awesome bargains though. FYE had Ghostworld and Wet Hot American Summer on VHS for $4.99 each!
I also picked up the new Death Cab at Sam Goody for $9.99, which is a better price than I'd get with my employee discount at Borders.
Grandma ordered Chinese food for dinner because she rocks and knows how to make me feel happy when I'm sad.
The night's festivities concluded with Krysten and I being girly and painting toenails and watching the Walkmen perform on David Letterman.
Tomorrow I come back up to school for work and class, and I'm there 'til Saturday. That's about as exciting as my life is right now. Just trying to take things one day at a time.

Oh, in other news, the guy who did the lounge cover of Down With the Sickness is named Richard Cheese and I bought one of his albums today. It's amazing. It has covers of Closer, Rape Me and Holiday in Cambodia on it!
Oh, and by the way, Eric and Lauren are not actually an official offical couple yet. If I was the one you heard that from, then I apologize. Chances are, I probably just didn't know what else to refer to her as.
