I've been eating good this week! Yes I am gonna devote a journal entry to this because I love ma food! biggrin I'm not one to rely on ready meals or anything but quite often it's a case of putting some pesto on pasta with some peppers and stuff blush But we've been having some traditional good old home cooking including toad in the hole with roastie...

I'm glad you find something to celebrate smile

Re cannabis, I'd like to see a lot more research done. But there's no point in trying, while the users have every reason to lie about their use, and the suppliers can cut the stuff with anything they feel like. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the odder side-effects that are (badly) reported aren't to do with that.

well welcome back then lady, take it its crimbo hols then!what you got planned for our lovely sunny town, not, lol

Woo! Go me! I got 68 on a report of Vindolanda (a roman fort on hadrian's wall)! I must sound like an idiot bigging myself up when I get a good mark but seriously dunno how it's happening! I got 56 for the report I did last year! Must have been all the pretty pictures biggrin

That's all for now, had 3 hours sleep (my sleep...

I've been feeling really down in the dumps today. I spoke to my parents last night coz my older brother finally had an appointment with a doctor (do not get me started on the NHS! mad ). He's been suffering from mental health problems ever since his best friend (our family friend) committed suicide 5 years ago. He diagnosed him as suffering from asperages syndrome and...

I agree with that. It's part of being on the web, I think - no reason to be here, not part of anything, the person who reads your comment could literally be anyone who can afford to look at a site. But of course that's an essential part of its strrength, too.

I'd like to expand on this with someone who knows what they're talking about - e.g. a historian wink - but maybe that would be too much like work, I know you're studying.

Anyhow I have to sleep. Be well, OK?
lycoris:
Bah, arcaeology's still cool without a group. wink

I'm sure I'll be able to find a photographer, I just have to keep trying. Good luck with your application!

Ugh! I've got myself all in a tizz! I like to know where I'm heading but I don't know anymore! I thought I wanted to go into museums but the more I chat with my flatmate who is applying to be a history teacher the more I like the sound of doing that! I can be fickle so I don't know if this is passing...

+1 sometimes means "I agree and have nothing significant to add". And sometimes it's just people being silly.
Or at least, I think that's what it means. tongue

You could always go into business. Shock everyone. wink

I got my medieval essay back that I wrote on the Cinque Ports today... and I tell you I'm totally in shock! I was 3 marks off a first! I haven't got a higher mark since the first year! I don't understand what exactly I'm doing differently but hey! At the moment I don't really care! biggrin

Having a Roman essay due in 2 weeks and...

It's crazy just how weird some people's living habits are, or how utterly inconsiderate they can be. I can't move out as I have nowhere to go - and Brighton's too expensive a place to move somewhere on my own. Hopefully next year.
Congratulations on your essay biggrin

I'm pretty much out of my rut.. dancing around my room in just stockings seems to have cheered me up! It may be shallow but when i think i look good it goes a long way to cheering me up! Just don't remind me of the work that I haven't done! Oh well, I've got the weekend and it looks like most people are going...

About that Dylan gig:
I idolise His Bobness. The concept of a "bad" Dylan album, or concert, is not one I can readily accept.
BUT that last show in Nottingham left a lot to be desired. Firstly the sound was dreadful. No excue for hiring a sound man who just puts everything on 11 and leaves it there. No "textures".
Secondly the guitarists were well below standard. They were way out of there depth in trying to follow the elusive "bouncing ball" that is Dylan, who likes to perform with the sponteniety of an action painter.
Kind of ,makes me reluctant to shell out another 50 in the future. (But I still idolise the guy!)

grrrrr! ARRR!!!

Been feeling really crap today. Spent most of the day in bed asleep, it's how I always see to deal with things. That way I can hide from things. I don't even know why I'm so down, just one of those days I guess. Even getting a good mark in a paper didn't cheer me up, it normally motivates me to do work but no,...

I think that virtually all women think they have wide hips. It seems to be a prerequisite.

I tend to only watch shows after they have completed their television runs and I can buy the DVD. So I usually know what happens when I start watching it. I don't like getting to cliffhanger season finales and not being able to leap ahead.
tokage:
So do I biggrin and y'know, I reckon a spot of fannying about might even help when you're feeling crap wink

Had a rather busy weekend.. .and yet I feel like I really didn't do that much! I went home which meant travelling down through London, I don't normally mind but when you've got a bag i find it very annoying! My dad worked a little later than normal so that he could pick me up from the station and drop me at my bf's flat......

We got married in Shropshire and cycled down through Wales, then turned and went along the south coast 'til Portsmouth. Then we cycled down the west coast of france and across the Marseille before we sold the bikes and took trains around Italy and Switzerland.

I think a camper is probably a better weay to go. When I was in my teens my parents bought a motorhome and we spent every summer in a different part of Europe. It was a lot more comfortable than the bikes.

Thank you for your sweet comment on my set; the shadow pictures are my favorites, too.

Ok so it's 5am now and brain is frazzled! I've been trying to finish off an essay but I'm still lacking some evidence to back my opinions up with. Trust me to pick an obscure subject that we don't have any books on! Damn it, if I was at home I KNOW I could get my hands on some! It's really quite frustrating! But I...

heehee biggrin

We only got rained out once, which wasn't that bad. Otherwise, we had to worry about sunburn. And looters!! WTF? It's just stained dirt and broken pottery, people! It's not worth anything to anyone but archeologists!

My other archaeology classes were "archaeology and paleoanthropology" and something to do with early civilizations. I can't remember what it was called, anymore. wink I think Canada's sytem is pretty similar to the US, but I have no experience or evidence to back that claim up.

Working in a museum would be so cool. I love the British Museum and was there briefly in May on honeymoon. biggrin
lycoris:
I started the application to be an SG just before the wedding, so my (rejected) set was taken shortly after we got back from our trip.

If your boyfriend isn't interested in museums, you need to find a museum buddy. I've got a friend who went with me recently: she explained the Judaica section and I explained the Egyptian section. Good fun.

I do much better in classes I enjoy. My theory is that if you're studying it and you hate it, you're going to hate the kind of job you can get with that degree, anyway. wink
