This is a project I have had in mind for some time.

Supremely late again. First, a quick apology for my lack of response to comments. I am mostly avoiding the internet these days. I awoke and realised that real life is far richer than pretending to have some semblance of it.
Last night I went to see (be)longing . It is quite difficult to explain and if you read the synopsis you'll probably be left with a complete emptiness of understanding. That's okay, me too. It was a performance of kinds, rather than a play. And it was quite different to what I expected.
When it started I just thought "Oh fantastic, a couple of annoying thesps doing thespy things." (thesp being Thespian). It was so much more than that, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was enamoured and moved by it at the same time.
In one sense it was an exploration of loneliness and living with oneself with individual and strong ideas while at the same time having a desperate need to belong. I think anyone with a modicum of intelligence can identify with that, especially many artists.
At this moment in time I'm mostly too tired to adequately describe how the piece moved me so this will have to suffice. The performance was paired with a short film that depicted the difficulties that young girls go through when trafficked from war torn countries into the UK; from their point of view. That in itself was moving and thought provoking. I really hope their films make a difference in the UK and can change some people's attitudes to immigrants.
