The wife is officially done with school. She doesn't graduate til may but she has completed all of her course work and is just waiting for the ceremony. Hell yeah for the wife. We both unsuccessfully attended the same little college in Kansas and I am so proud of her for going back and getting it done. I do not possess that drive or desire. So that is awesome and she gets a little raise at work for it and now next time a salaried job comes up she will be eligible to be considered. The other night I realized what shitty timing I had quitting my job in the last two weeks of school for her and apologized profusely. The eldest getting pneumonia( she is feeling much better now) also happened while she finished her project and a paper and a test and had a bunch of craziness going on at work. That's a lot a shit to keep in one's head and still keep your shit together. That is why they call her "my better half" and I call her "our best foot forward".
So tomorrow I work and then have orientation at the new job. I am excited and nervous. This place will be a bit of a shock to the system I am sure. Being busy consistently and having an actual staff can be heaven and hell, I will just have to stay ahead and crank ass. I need to order new uniform clothes as actually cooking in them has befouled most of my work clothes.
I am also excited to be getting the wife's dining room table back from they guy that is refinishing it. It is a beautiful walnut table with a crazy mechanism for pulling out the leaves. It is crazy heavy so I am not looking forward to moving it again but it should be gorgeous and we will finally be able to eat at the table when we have more than two dinner guests. The wife has been scoping out chairs for a while but none have been purchased til we see how the new finish turns out. He is trying to have it done for saturday so that neither of us has to drive the hour and some that it would take after I'm done driving up to ptown. He lives just as far away from work as I do just in the opposite direction.
My brain is still not on daylight savings yet. Even though the wife has been giving it her all in an effort to wear me out at bed time I am still staring at the wall for an hour. Fun times though.
one for the fat boy
A lot of the songs that I know as instrumental jazz pieces had words but nobody sings them anymore. I hope that with a name like Big Beaver there was a set of racy lyrics they only broke out after hours or in the shady honky tonks
Bob Wills just seems to be tapped into my brain tonight.
