I finally went to see Old Joy and it's a pretty slight movie... like, don't randomly buy it or (somehow) pay $50 to get into some movie fest to see it or anything... I will say it does capture an element of Portland life, though. It was nice, but left me wanting something more.
So is it my least fave of the movies I've seen in theaters this year, so far, or uhhh Snakes on a Plane? I suppose it's a matter of intent n what you mean n prefer... or what your definition of "is" is, and so on....
(ps- I like them, I just like other movies more.)

interesting Iraq/ Afghan news, by way of Canada (whose media is actually paying attention):

I saw The Covenant today. I thought it was pretty good. I saw Idlewild on Monday, I liked it as well.

WHY did we go to Afghanistan? I was so happy we didn't go to Iraq, but it's still sad that Canadians are dying in the WoT. For the second time I'm aware of during their time out there, a group of Canadians engaged in a maneuver were shot on and killed by American jets. *sigh*
