If you don't read these things often, I wrote a whole bunch of stuff the last couple entries.
Now then- for everyone else... I've had a moderately busy couple of days.
Saturday, I wanted to try to get a volunteer position at the big library in Portland, so I called the woman who runs the used book store there. Three hours later, I'm giving her my mini-resume, interviewing... and since it got busy, running the register and being assigned a regular day to work. So I guess I got the position, eh?
Sat night I saw pygmy's husband play again. The Portland Jazz Jams certainly turn it over, as the leader and him were the only two from Tuesday night, but they sure get great players.
Sunday, I read some more of Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino. I like that it reminds me of my fave poet, Nicholas Christopher. The difference between the latter's page-long prose-poems and the former's episodic, 1-to-2-page chapters is negligible... which is perfectly fine with me. I also read more of Quentin Crisp's How to Have a Life-Style. One of these days, I'll have to type up 2 or 3 pages of that to put in here to be ignored by everyone... fair enough, but I dig the shit out of it, like all Crisp. Even when I disagree with him, the man has a point and says it with more style than anyone.
Sunday night- hypnogogic and pdxMatt DJed for a bunch of us, and (to quote David St Hubbins) it was goooooood, so if yr in town for Jesus's sake come out and give a SERMON a table dance! (Many were there already, though, and hello to them.)
Today- I went to the place that has a job opening, looked around (good set-up), talked to the manager (pimped for myself a bit- of course), came home and wrote up the cover letter - resume - job references - mailed. So we'll see. Damned Rite Aid doesn't have my Gadget derby pics yet! I need a digital camdamnra.
