So it seems that Orangeduck's 2011/2012 American Jamboree (you have those down in the States, right? Jamborees? Or maybe hoedowns? Hootenannys?... hootenanni? Anyway.) will continue even further west across the country. Here's how it's looking right now:
End of December: Washington, DC
Some time in March: Chicago, IL (I am so stoked for this, I heart Chicago)
Some time in April: Seattle, WA
(There's something aesthetically pleasing about the two-letter, capitalized State abbreviation.)
So yeah: four months, 3 different cities and 3 different papers to present. Having the excuse to travel, even if it's just to visit my neighbours to the south, is one of the perks of an academic lifestyle that I love the most.
So watch out, America!
Also, these things continue to be right on the money:

The typical tourist attractions: Pike Place Market, the Seattle underground tour, but then there's Alki beach, Jimi Hendrix's grave (which is technically in Renton) and Bruce and Brandon Lee's grave at Lakeview cemetery in Seattle. Umm......I love this city, so much to do
