I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

i'm sorry you must suffer the collateral damage in this war i have with my brain and heart. but i must from time to time engage it with extremes of binge drinking so i may gain some semblance of peace.

i'll admit i have a particular "type" that i'm attracted to, but its not my fault according to some psychology research paper i read once (kinda wish i could remember where so i could cite it) . during adolescent development our minds set and fixate on specific traits that become sexually attractive to us as we grow older.

i'm to sober to continue on this...

questions on the gun control debate...

criminals dont purchase guns legally, so how would background checks work?

please illustrate how any of the new legislation would prevent future occurrences?

would you waive your right to doctor patient confidentiality, for the sake of public safety?

how do you think a universal background check that includes information on mental health would affect hiring practices, since some jobs...

I think you have to assume punks are gonna be fuckers and circumvent the law. I guess the law is about mitigating the occurance of postal fuckers. Does it work? History says maybe. Maybe those fuckers in Colombine wouldn't have access to guns. But yeah, that comes down to their folks. Me & my mates used to fuck with a mate of mines gun cabinet. His Old Man had that case tied up. He was military and on base. Problem was the lock was my mate's birthday. We'd fuck around firing unloaded twelvies and the like. We even went spotlighting and roo shooting in the winter. After unloading 22's into kangaroos and seeing those poor buggers leap and fall as if you'd shot a man, you fucking quickly loose your enthusiasm.

So what I'm saying is yes, making access to guns is a way of distancing them from people, but in America where those fucking killtoys are ubiquitous that's not the answer. Shit, killings things is a real divider. None of my mates were the same after that weekend. We learnt there was responsibility behind the trigger and killing things served no purpose unless you needed to live.

To answer your question. It's about time the US treat guns with respect. Yes, background checks. If you need a gun that bad it means you're a fucking pyscho. Owning a gun, no, that's not crazy, Lots of my mates own one. They don't go postal, they don't flash them around and take selfies with them. They have respect for the weapon. I think background checks should be mandatory.
