Homework time again!! @lyxen @rambo and @missy <3
Hey guys!! How is everyone??
The sound track to my life for many years was my all time favourite band UnderØath. Define The Great Line was in my cd player for so many years. When the drummer/clean vocalist Aaron Gillespie left, I was utterly crushed and completely heart broken.
UnderØath made me feel alive, happy, sad and everything in between. Was my number one cd to go to when I would be really mad and needed something to scream my lungs out to. I related a lot in my life to their songs. The Writings On The Wall was my most loved song and when they broke up It took me along time to get over it. Its funny when you love something and connect with something so much that you never think it will effect your life so immensely. Especially a band. I tried listening to a lot of other bands and music to try and fill this void that I had but nothing would fill it... So I stopped trying.
Ive known about Deftones for years as an old punk band from the 90's. Really different sound, but I never really listened to them cause none of my friends listened to them so I missed the boat on that one.
It wasn't until the start of last, maybe a little longer, I was at a friends house and he put on Sex Tape. Id never heard that song before and I was instantly hooked. Ever since then I've bought all of their albums and I can finally say that that void I had with UnderØath will never be filled, but Deftones is damn well close.
I relate so much to their songs that I never thought was possible. Ive made a playlist of all their softer songs that I go to sleep to every night and its now to the point if I don't have that playlist on, I can't sleep. I listen to The Deftness now at least once a day. I love his voice, the melancholy, the swoon...
My favourite album is White Pony, But their new album Gore is just as great. Every track to me has a silver lining. There is a song for every occasion, Deftones will be the soundtrack to my life for a long time. <3
