It's about time I did my homework, right? As usual I'm last to the bandwagon. Welp, here goes..
1. I have a thing for novelty mugs. Only cool ones though. I own about 8 so far including a few different starbucks ones, one with a pot octopus stuck to the bottom and one with a picture of Hattie Watson's glittery ass on.
2. I can bend my tongue into a shamrock shape (but I can't touch my nose with it.)
3. I'm extremely allergic to hair dye. Last time I tried to dye my hair just a couple of shades darker, my face swelled up so badly that my right eye wasn't even visible, I was put on a ton of steroids, and my mum was told to keep an eye on me whilst I slept to make sure the swelling doesn't spread to my throat and suffocate me. So no exciting colour choices for me, sadly.
4. Despite the fact I've lived in Bolton town all my life, I don't actually sound like it - for some reason I don't have the accent. I'm generally asked if I'm from Ireland/New Zealand/America/etc.
5. I hated school but I was still really good at it. Top of the class, really good kid. In the last couple of weeks of high school I sort of decided, "fuck this shit" and spent the majority of my time in college drunk, hungover and/or sleeping on my desk... I still finished with brilliant grades, two months before I was supposed to.
6. I'm technically an only child, although I have a half brother, a stepbrother and a stepsister.
7. As far as I know I'm the first kid in the family to finish school and go to college - Mum went straight into work to pay rent, dad was expelled and went to boarding school and then the army, step brother expelled, step sister got pregnant and had to drop out.
8. Most people find it hard to believe I'm related to my family - I'm quiet, small, bookish... Generally the rest of the clan are loud and outgoing, taller, all of the women have pretty big boobs - so much so it's sort of a running joke in the family. It's where I got the name for my SG account, actually.
9. I haven't been on holiday in about four years. I haven't been without a job or had longer than a week off work since I was old enough to work.
10. I'm generally much happier single; the idea of sharing my life with someone sounds incredibly claustrophobic and marriage/children is definitely a route I wanna avoid at all costs. (And it really pisses me off when I get the patronising 'Oh, it'll all change when you get older' lecture.)
I've really enjoyed reading through everyone else's journals for this week; I hope this was as interesting as thiers! Till next time, SG :)
