I have been wraped up and loved by my friends on this site this last few days.
In Sophie's journal she once asked about whether people at their base are out for themselves or if they ultimately pull together in community. At the time when she asked I couldn't answer. I think we all slide back and forth on this scale from day to day and from circumstance to circumstance.
Today I say community trumps individuality. Chalko and I have been trying to slosh through our personal junk this past few weeks and keep it under wraps. Once we let our pain out, the love poured in.
Special thanks and blessings to Hellah, Sophie, and cklarock for precious words of encouragement and genuine friendship.
I got to disect an eyeball tonight. Took strong scissors to cut through the outer ("scleral") layer. It still had eyelashes attached....

I have tiny pink dots the length of my back, where they were. I like them. Still coming on sunday, I hope?
yet again...
but you asked about Christmas here, and determined to keep some sort of continuity, here goes:
Actually it's very opportune because tomorrow is 'St Nicholas' day. My wife is Belgian and we celebrate St Nicholas on the 6th December. This largely means a mini-Christmas, involviong Chocolate and raisin bread, with presents for the children. (But not the adults. Boo!). So we'll be doing that tomorrow morning with the girls.
Our Christmas this year will be up in the North of England with my parents. This means Midnight mass on the 24th and on coming back we will eat mince pies and drink in Christmas with some Sherry. Next day is a mad food fest starting with full English breakfast after the gifts, then it doesn't stop till turkey sandwiches at 4pm! It's becoming normal to eat Turkey curry at teatime on the 25th now, which is quite fun.
We sometimes go to Belgium but being an island nation
Your turn!
PS I already know you're off to your father-in-laws this year
PPS Did you have fries with your eyeball?
