yesterday was fun. busted out some old family recipes and made some chicken and rice soup out of the stock i made a few days ago from our 7lb chicken we bought at the farmer's market.
mmmm.
too bad i overcooked that chicken some :/ you'd think being a chef i'd know better lol.

i also made a lemon meringue pie from scratch - all the way down to the graham cracker crust! was a bitch and a ton of dishes, but it looks divine.



quite frankly i think grandma would be proud, the good old southern woman she was

today i'm trying my hand at biscuits. we'll see. i can't wait to dive into one with tons of butter and honey.
they will go gloriously with the soup.

the idea of being in TN with Corey and having our own HOUSE is so fucking fantastic. i feel like i won the lottery with him. last night we sat around on skype talking about how crazy we are about each other and we both feel like we really lucked out. it's a fucking amazing feeling.
