Been on a bit of a hiatus lately, partly because I've been insanely busy and partly because I wanted to detach myself from my computer a bit. My days were getting to be too repetitive, sometimes its nice to just do something totally different...break routine.

I can understand. sometimes it's hard to not want to be on the computer all the time. there's so much you can do on here....but glad you stopped back in to tell us what's up! smile

Here's a public opinion poll for you: how many people have been to their workplace more than a bit intoxicated? Hell, I am right now....of course, it's midnight and no one else is here in the lab, so i guess it's a bit different than stumbling into the office drunk at 9:00am. Hey you Lansing residents, have any of you noticed that Reverend Horton Heat...

Yeah that happens to me maybe two or three times a year. Usually when I know my boss will be so fucked up he won't notice.

I would love to see the good Rev. but am currently hoarding my wealth for my move.

I do recommend reading the book again.

well it wasnt like "a date". my dad just took her to dinner and a movie. and after 32yrs, I am surprised they did that! usually they want ME to go with them! I usually decline unless it's something fun.haha.

I dont think I've been to work like that..maybe with a hangover back in the day when I was a cashier. I remember drinking all night, crashing at some dudes house, having to be home by whatever time and to work by 11am on a sunday. I can remember standing there, no customers, eating crackers because I was so ready to puke.

but now, I drive an hour to work...so I dont usually go in drunk or high. too much work. tongue

Oh No!! I'm at work and missing the SuperBowl....oh yeah, i don't give a rat's ass.....whew, almost got too excited there. Maybe if the colts had made it to the superbowl I'd be watching......but that hasn't happened in my lifetime, so there was no real precedent there. Lately I've been dreaming about completely quitting grad school and science altogether.....I really do like what I'm doing...

Worked late late late last night.....then proceeded to sleep till noon today. This snow is making me want to go skiing....I need to find time to go visit my friend in Boulder, CO...he's lived there for 2 years now and I still haven't been to his place.
lastbadger:
A friend of mine just moved out to Colorado this last year. She says she absolutlely loves it.

Oh so tired...stayed out too late last night...drank too much last night. Just played racquetball for 2 hours.....think I'll fall asleep here at my desk.
lastbadger:
Desk sleep, I don't think I've had that experience since High School. Hey SgKazoo Is trying to put together a Lansing meetup for the end of Feb. It would be cool to meet you.
unique3:

Hmm, new year.....can't decide if I feel optimistic or not....ambivalent I guess. Still living in Lansing, which is not especially to my liking. One of these days I'll get my PhD and get the hell out of here. At the moment I'm completely broke. I got a new fellowship this semester, but the office has been dragging their feet on the paperwork, so I haven't...

Whats up with all the Lansing hating? It for sure ain't New York, or Las Vegas, but hell I've lived in lots worse. Of course this is all just posturing because I've submittted for a SG Lansing group and want you on board if it gets approval wink
So what exactly is the deal on this fellowship tuition thing? Will it help for us to call or email some folk on your behalf? Only other hand I can extend for you is maybe some grub if you need it. Like maybe lunch. I'm not really blingin' . But hey let us know how it ends up.

Hmm, don't really feel like doing a journal entry today...not really sure why I am in fact. Kinda tired and sick, think I'll go home now.

Regret....Ben Folds sings so aptly about it. Really a terrible feeling, regret. There's this girl that lives down the hall from me who I'd really like to get to know.....met her one evening when she asked me for change for $1 for laundry. We were having a nice conversation until my phone rang.....it was an old friend of mine calling to tell me that a...

Ughhh, so much alcohol in the last 3 nights....I have one more gathering to go to this evening, but I'm really kind of tired of partying right at the moment. Think I'll have to lay off the adult beverages this evening, of course, that's what I said yesterday too.

Just spent 9.5 hours grading genetics final exams....if I don't get a drink soon someone's going to pay.
If you ever wondered if your professors and TAs in college make fun of your answers on exams......yes, they do, it's a great source of entertainment while grading exams. I was kinda surprised that one of the professors brought a White Stripes cd to our little grading...

Heh. Those are the people who are just mistaken about things.

Good luck on finals, fellow Spartan. Public policy student here, how 'bout you?
