So, I gave my two weeks' notice at the marble slab on Monday. I decided, after going bowling with mr_dave and a whole buncha other people on the weekend, when my hand decided it didn't want to work right anymore for a while after the third round (during all three rounds I was using the lightest ball they had and trying to use my left sometimes and switch up what I was doing to reduce the strain on my right hand), that I needed to be able to use my hands a lot more than I needed to be working at the slab.
This is all despite the fact that I like most of my co-workers, if not adore, and the owners are just awesome. Part of the problem is also two of the three supervisors (one's a pretty good supervisor but kind of a bitch, while the other one, though I think she's actually the AM, is just not that great a supervisor), and another part is that it's just so damn far from my house. It takes about an hour to get there by bus, unless I'm working the 5-close shift, in which case it's two. And now, with the hours of the store changing from noon to ten pm to 11 to 11, I'm going to be there until about 12.30, without fail, when I do closing shifts. Which is bullshit, because I cannot catch a bus at that hour; the last bus to st. albert leaves at quarter after twelve from downtown, which is another twenty minutes away by bus from the slab. So I have to either get my parents to come pick me up (which they have been doing for the last month, almost without complaint), or catch a cab, which costs about twenty-five bucks. I seriously doubt I make twenty-five bucks after taxes in the longest shift I have there. *does some calculations* Oops, no, I make about 35$, after taxes and such. But still. The point stands. 'Tis bullshit.
So, who has a line on a day job that doesn't include closing shifts, preferably has steady hours, and doesn't involve breaking my hands (typing is allowed, though, because that, I'm used to)? Help me out here, guys.

And good for you for quitting...I'd imagine that working long hours, transit that sort of thing does suck
I'm not busy on the weekends...we could hang out then... Give my cell a ring (even though voicemail isn't there anymore) and maybe we'll collaborate.
