I'm listening to the Weakerthans' "Watermark" and these couple of lines jumped out at me:
How your body still remembers things you told it to forget -
How those furious affections followed you...
I've got this store-bought way of saying I'm okay,
and you learned how to cry in total silence...
Isn't that the truth. Can you ever really forget people with whom you've been so intimate and/or truly cared about? I can't. Try as I might, my body always remembers... and furious affections follow me everywhere. I hate that. Why do such memories have to be so haunting?
Well, at least I've learned the art of crying in total silence.

i can't forget, still trying to figure out how to deal with the intensity of the feelings when i remember...the art of crying in total silence is a beautiful thing to have in your arsenal and one i would love to learn ( i usually use the written word or some form of escape )
