If you don't feel comfortable tackling the job yourself (it's not anything very complicated), *discretely* talk to one of the younger techs at any of the auto shops in your area, and see if you can get them to do the work on the side. They're usually only getting paid a very small fraction of the outrageous "labor charge" that you get soaked with as a consumer. If you bat your eyes you could probably get the job done for $50 or less, net cost to you $150.
