I just finished "Weird Like Us: My Bohemian America" by Ann Powers. A great little book about the the non-traditional nature of relationships that a lot of us have. It's got me thinking about the nature of our little SG community and how a lot of us can feel a sense of comfort and acceptance here that we may not feel in the larger world.
I know that I feel like a "weirdo among the corporate drones" like Powers says. I am a pretty well respected middle manager working for a large affiliate of a national bank but I am not one of "them". I have my ink under my button down shirts and my SG stickers on my Jeep and on and on and on. I am not better than they are but I am distinctly apart. I am the "other".
More later...perhaps a thread for discussion....
