The unassuming boiling pot pictured above offers those that imbibe it many social benefits. Called 'liquid bread' by some, this beverage is the world's most popular alcoholic beverage.
I had the fortunate opportunity to talk Beer with Lord Byron this past New Year's Eve. Byron acting under a policy of conversational brinkmanship nearly had me order the material components necessary to manufacture this beloved beverage. For unknown reasons he backed down. But with the schemes and designs laid, I set about this year gathering the needed resources and personnel.
Fortune would have that I found a compatriot experienced, eager, and equipped for such an endeavor. With him and three others, we set out to craft an ambrosia of beers, scintillating and sultry. A dark mistress of beers: A chocolate-porter.
While the task, from start to finish was an affair that in years to come will not be telling of the magic of the experience. It was the company, the beverage, and the sharing that will remain emblazoned in my mind as something I am proud to have done.
