Fuck working retail! I'm with you. I'm surprised you made it so long, I was done with it after three shitty years working at Target. I got a small promotion, barely a pay raise, and with my new found data access I discovered a mistake that would have cost the store thousands of dollars. (They had ordered the wrong model of shelving for a complete revamp of the beauty products section, and it would not have worked with our store.) I informed the manager, emailed corporate, and everything was going well. Like two days later I'm being yelled at by the store manager for "not following up" and finding out what was going on. Like, fuck you dude! I just saved your fucking store enough money to impact your bonus. I quit very shortly after that. The only thing that mattered when working there was how many god damn target visa memberships you could hawk onto people. I still hate going into Target. Thanks for sharing your story.
