Its the kind of day that gives Maine summers a bad name; hot, overcast, 98% humidity, and an occasional drip from the sky, though never enough to make things pleasant.
I was supposed to go to the beach this afternoon, but the infrequent bursts of thunder and rain make that idea a little less than pleasant, so we've put that off until friday. When I go to the beach during the day, I don't sit and soak up rays. I like to climb along the rocks, check out tide pools and old forts, see the things those suckers down on the sand are missing out on. That requires fairly dry weather.
On an unrelated note, do you ever find yourself wishing that Axl wasn't such a dousche so GNR really could get back together. I was driving around earlier, listening to Appetite for Destruction, and thinking about how when I look back on the 1980s, that album blows everything else out of the water. How did it go so wrong so quickly, and who was telling Axl that he was and is the heart and soul of the band? These days he's just a fat guy in hockey shirt with corn rows. At least if he had Slash around he could be fat guy in a hockey shirt with cornrows and one of the coolest guitarists since Keef. Velvet Revolver may not have been all they were cracked up to be, but they still rocked harder than the most recent GNR line up.
