Or what Dr. Neil Degrasse Tyson would call a "brain failure." This time said failure was actually on the part of my worker's comp claims adjuster who left the office for a week and a half and never got anyone to take care of his shit while he was gone. His shit of course being my knee. Suffice it to say nearly two weeks after physical therapy was recommended by my doctor it still hasn't been approved and it could be yet another week before it even starts. Meanwhile my knee is not getting any better and my hopes for returning to work are becoming more and more bleak. At this point I'm pretty well convinced that if I get to go back to work it will have to be at a different job that can accommodate the new restrictions that are surely going to be placed on me.
In other news I finally seem to have found what was causing my twitch live streams to go all wonky. The webcam. My webcam is this old Logitech webcam 200 that really is a piece of cheap crap and for some reason, despite the low resolution OBS was having a hell of a time sending the signals through cyberspace. Shadowplay worked just fine with it but I don't want to use Shadowplay unless I have to because it doesn't allow for any customization. At some point I'd like to get notifications whenever someone donates or follows me so I can give them props on channel and I can't do that with Shadowplay. Now in some cases I will have to use Shadowplay because OBS for whatever reason doesn't detect some of my games, particularly the older ones but overall I want OBS to be the default.
Next of course is what kind of gaming rig do I want to build. For a long time I've wanted a triple monitor setup but with my current desk which I bought for art and gaming doesn't really allow for that. However, my current desk also suffered quite a bit of damage from the move and may not make it much longer. So the question now is, do I buy a new multi-purpose desk and modify it to fit the triple screens I want or make a gaming specific rig from scratch (it's not hard) and have a separate set up for creating art? Decisions, decisions.
Oh well. At least I figured out how to connect my new phone to my computer and down/upload pics.
