I'm feeling better after a day or so with my thoughts. We're still broke, nothing has really changed but I'm not quite so depressed. I know we'll get through this I just need to keep my head up and hang in there.
Just for the fuck of it (before all this most recent drama) I decided to rejoin iRacing for a month and see how I do. To my amazement I actually managed to get promoted from rookie to Class D license! I think I only have a week or so left but now I get to race more than just the stupid Mazda Cup cars (which I hate). Not sure what yet, I'll have to wait till next week to find out but I was pretty excited to get promoted. I might actually stay on for another month to see how I fair in the new races I'm eligible for.
I'm not drawing anything this week because my scanner is still down and I have no real hope of getting it back up until next payday at the earliest (and even then...) so my motivation has pretty much gone away. I did however, get a commission request for a "scary, man eating wolf eating our cats" from (wait for it...) my daughter! I had started drawing a picture of a fake movie poster based on the Wizard of Oz getting Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch treatment and my daughter liked it quite a lot. Well, all except for the fact that I left out Toto because let's face it, that worthless, flea ridden, drool soaked bag of hair was nothing more than a purse prop in the film. (Yeah, I am so NOT a dog person) So she suggested i draw a scary looking Toto, something like a werewolf. I told her I'd think about it and her 10 year old brain went into overdrive. So, uh... yeah. I guess I'm drawing Toto after all. Sadly, none of you will get to see what I end up with for quite some time. Sorry.
