Brian sat in front of his computer at 3am that night. The light from the monitor was the only illumination in the otherwise darkened living room. He stared at the box Batman had given him which appeared to be and worked like a standard USB hub. Brian doubted highly that the box was nothing more than off the shelf tech but he was unsure how unlock its secret. The raised logo on one side did seem a little suspect but when he pulled that off nothing of consequence was revealed underneath.
"You said I passed my entrance exam so does mean this is the final?" Brian asked the device.
"Can't sleep honey?" Jeanie asked from the shadows.
"This," Brian held up the small device for her to see. "Is proving to be a tough puzzle to solve."
"What makes you think it's a puzzle?" Jeanie asked. She pulled up her own chair to sit down in.
"I didn't tell you who gave this to me did I?" Brian asked her.
"No, why? Who gave it to you?" Jeanie asked.
"Batman." Brian answered staring at the box.
"What?!" Jeanie shouted.
"He asked me to join Batman Inc. last night after I left work. I wonder..." Working on a hunch Brian plugged the box into his USB drive. He then opened the hard drive's filesystem and saw a new icon that hadn't been there before.
"What did you tell him?" Jeanie asked.
"What do you tell Batman? No?" Brian open the icon and a pdf file opened up showing images of two tickets to a Waynetech conference the following weekend. He made sure the printer was on and punched "print."
"I hope you don't have plans Saturday, it looks like we're going to a party."
