So, Happy Christmastime everyone. I know it's still a bit away from Christmas but I was just walking by my tree that I spend most of the day decorating and felt a bit...loving, nostalgic?...I was feeling a bit retarded today and felt I should wish everyone a happy Christmastime. Different from Christmas itself, this is the most difficult time to appreciate things when we all have to deal with impatient and pushy people as they run stop signs and cut in line in a mad frenzy to to buy crap. It really makes you feel the opposite of the Christmas feeling sometimes until you stop and think.
People spend a lot of time arguing with their spouses on the decor or being frustrated for 5 hours trying to find the one goddamn light bulb in the bunch that's making the whole set of lights crap out, but we do it for a reason. Christmastime is usually far from merry but only because it's one of the few times of years that we all give a shit enough to try and make it merry. Whether it's by competing with neighbors on the most epic light show ever, spending time with family, or donating time, money, and effort to worthy causes, it's all (or at least mostly) done in an attempt to make the best holiday ever. People love Christmastime, even if it's difficult to see. So if you ever get the feeling that traffic's a bitch, or you neighbor's an asshole...they probably are, but they may just be doing it to make sure it's the best damn Christmas ever...even if you're not invited to the party.
