Monday: You Can't HANDLE An Update.
1. First and foremost, I'm super pissed that for some reason I cannot view the SG videos. My computer has all the software, and everything works properly, except that the screen is white and I can't hear anything. Technology and I have a love/hate relationship.
2. Holy fuckass, I had the awesomest weekend ever. EVER. You're sofa king jealous.
Friday I took the day off of work as I was working the SGNY Fashion Show. I slept until around 10:30 that morning, then took my time getting my shit together before calling a car to help my makeup trunk and me get to Arlene's Grocery by 2p. I got there and was greeted by thirteen gorgeous women - nice, right? - then checked in with Aspen and her director friend, Alex. Soon after that, I was prepping my makeup and getting set up to spend the next 7 or so hours putting my hands all over some pretty faces.
Everything went fairly smoothly, aside from having to apply 15 pairs of false eyelashes before showtime... talk about grating! The fashion show was fabulous, and it went off without a hitch. I'm telling ya - months of preparation for 30 minutes of stage time. What a life.
After the ladies had their final bow, the drinking began. I was in fuck-YEAH overload, no question. Along with the beautiful faces you see above, I had the pleasure of spending some time with Mle, Fenchurch (finally!), minimalism, tuxy, sixsixty, Orali, thisisyourbrain, NadzofSteel, derceto, mydogfarted, johnny_fantastic, jason and of course the cuter-than-CUTE Reagan... God, I KNOW I'm forgetting some people. It was a veritable SG smorgasbord.
I think the most entertaining part of my evening, however, was during the dress rehearsal of the show. I was standing outside of the changing area and saw a guy wearing a black toque with a Canadian Flag patch on it... being Canadian, of course, I called him out and soon discovered he, too, was originally from Toronto. We introduced ourselves and embraced (Canadians have an instant bond!), and soon got into discussion about citizenship and all the bullshit related to immigration status. As he was explaining to me his trials and triblulations, I caught a quick mention of his occupation - his words were 'I own a porn site'. It wasn't until I asked which porn site he owned that I realized I was talking to Sean.
Real smooth, Cliff.
Anyway, after the show was over it quickly became insanely crowded and I grabbed up my shit and headed towards the exit, Anabel leading the way. I was hoping she could hook me up with a ride home, as I had a fair amount of luggage with me and wasn't about to deal with the F train. While I was waiting to see what the deal was, Miss JaiDee and her man, chrislikewhoa called me over. They were on their way back to the hotel to watch some totally awesome DVD footage, and just as I was getting ready to hail a cab Sean told me to come along. Well shit, twist my arm! We trekked over to Rivington, and Sean was gracious enough to carry my trunk most of the way. When everyone got to the hotel, we piled up on the TEMPURPEDIC BED (I need one) and watched the DVD. I was a drowsy girl and packed up around 12:15a, catching Odette for a quick hello before I hailed a cab. Home by 12:45a, asleep by 1:30a.
On Saturday morning, my alarm went off at 9am... much to my dismay. Alas, there was more makeup to be applied, and let's face it - it's what I do. tmronin scooped me up in his fancy red sportscar and we headed into Manhattan, ready to take on Blyss and Monica with the shadow brush and the camera. Soon after we arrived at tmronin's office, the fabulous Blyss appeared with her partner in crime, Miguel. We quickly set up and I worked my magic on Blyss' already stunning face, and we marched upstairs to the roof and began shooting. The girl is a natural - no question. I assisted as well as I could while the boys shot pictures, and next thing I knew, Miss Amina Munster arrived on the scene with her cute lil' video camera in tow. After the shoot was completed, Amina and Blyss shot some more footage while I prepped my kit for Monica's set, which we were shooting next. After she and her man, thisisyourbrain, arrived, I got straight down to business. Her makeup was a blast to do, and that girl has such a great face for it, too - eyelashes and skin to DIE for. tmronin quickly set up the next background and Amina and I sang the theme music while Monica got her naked on. We had a great time and were done before we knew it. tmronin and I packed up all of our shit and bid adieu to Amina, Monica and thisisyourbrain, then reconnected with Blyss and Miguel to drop them off at The Ghostbusters Library before heading home for a disco nap.
Fast forward to 9:30p, arriving at The Rivington once again for the shi-shi afterparty with Krrn and my man. We soon discovered that the only non-beer beverage option was vodka and Red Bull. I'm not one to party sober, so we downed a few and partied the night away. I caught up with penny for the first time in a while, and enjoyed the company of UnecessaryZ, mikey_dough, Skryche, vyeseleph, luna et al. Much fun was had, and the night was completed by a traditional hotel room party with some of my favorite SGNYers.
Dan and I decided to escape around 3:30a with Krrn and johnny_fantastic in tow. When we got home (sans Johnny - he's our new neighbor, kinda!), we ordered WAY too much diner food, smoked up and pigged out before passing out around 5a.
Like I said, you're jealous.
Sunday was the first day since the beginning of April that I could just chill the fuck out. Finally. We slept until 3:30p and woke up to the same thing to which we fell asleep... diner food (leftovers!) and pot. After Krrn left, Hot and I had some fantastic sex, which was followed for the remainder of the evening by a ton of food, bong hits galore, and more television than we could stand. It was a perfect ending to a perfect weekend.
3. Chiropractor's appointment at 2p. Dinner at 8p. *busybusy*
I have to earn my paycheck, kids. Enjoy your Monday - more tomorrow.
