Interlude to my Alaskan adventure
My interest in AK, has been there since I was 16.
A part of the USA that's not like the rest of the country. (As i have read and been told)
The way people seem to live close to nature and with wildlife in their world.
A part of the world where people have and are living more in tune with their nature's surroundings and the seasons, much unlike the people do here (in my eyes).
Here we shift and shape the land to our benefits, making it more efficient for our 'better' being.
And losing sight of how earth can be in a place.
Last year after a pretty pretty intense year, I decided I finally wanted to move back to the USA.
My choices were Oregon and/or Alaska.. Since I've been to Oregon a couple times i was still in the blue regarding where I wanted to go.
In early april 2011 I was visiting a friend in the UK, and on my flight back, the person (Brandon) next to me noticed my hoop , and asked me about it.
He said that hooping was very big in Alaska.
And I was blown away by the fact that he told me hooping was big over there.
My reply; " Wow, what a coincidence, I'm thinking about moving over there and have been talking to some people over there"
And then he said "
"Well my friend Roger is way big into that stuff"
I said
"HOLY cow, ROGER?? !! Thats actually the guy I have been talking to for some time, he's been giving me info on AK, and even offered a place to crash if I wanted to come"
So that for me was once again yet another sign that my idea on moving to Alaska was something I should try and do.
And then another sign was;
That the place I will be staying at when I get there is in the area called "Mountain Vieuw"..
Well guess what?!!! I was born and lived in California - Mountain Vieuw.
