I got my first job when I was 16 at my local movie theater. Although it has since been closed down, I have so many memories there.
I worked as an usher, which (at our theater) means you end up doing a little bit of everything. Selling food and tickets, checking tickets and theaters and even cleaning up when the show was over.
Although I had to wear an awful looking polo and black dress pants everyday, this job was very laid back and fun. Everyone who worked there got along so well, it was as if we were family.
Since, this was my first job, I didn't realize how great I had it and that not all jobs are as fun and welcoming as my first. Some of the best and worse things to ever happen to me happened while I worked there.
Now, 7 years later, the theater has been shut down and a new, more modern and high tech theater has been built. The section of the shopping mall that was once over flowing on Friday nights is now being used to sell watches and decorative signs, but I will always see what it once was and will always remember my first, and favorite, job as a movie theater usher.
