what an unsatisfying voting experience.
my voting place is usually in the lobby of a neighborhood health care center, but when I arrived there at 8am, all there was was a sign redirecting me to a "garage" five blocks away. i get there expecting some kind of parking facility or autobody shop, but instead its just someone's house, in their garage amongst all their shit. what the hell? i don't know these people. who gets to have their house as a voting place? how bipartisan is this, anyway?
well, what choice do i have? i get in line and pass the time looking at the family photos stuck to the refrigerator that's in the garage, as well as the magnetic poetry. when my turn comes, i'm not on the rolls. dunno why, i was when i voted for mayor earlier this year. everything on my end checks out - i even have my voter registration card on me. so they make me vote 'provisionally', which means my ballot gets dropped in a box and not optically scanned like everyone else, and if, if my vote does get counted (after all my info is verified), it'll be weeks from now. how incredibly unsatisfying.
i briefly debated using stealth and submitting my ballot into the optical scanner anyway, hoping no one notices i am the guy who wasn't on the rolls, but decided not to risk it, since they made me sign a slew of forms to even get a ballot in the first place.
meh. fuck.
