As ol' Mick Jones and Joe Strummer might say, "Should I stay or should I go now?"
I know I might get chaff for this but, why does it seem that 51% of people in this country are so friggin naive??? I'm not as mad at "The Man" as I am at the populace at the moment. It's downright shocking! I also find it funny that even though I've lived here for over 20 years now that pretty much the only states that I have ever spent anytime in, are the ones which went for Kerry. Coincidence? I think not!
In recent years I've considered moving back to Europe, namely Germany or even back to England but for various personal and professional reasons, I've remained in the States. But you know, I'm really beginning to entertain the that idea again!
It's such a shame. I do like America for the most part. It's given me and my family alot of opportunities that we might have not had in the UK, but more and more I'm dismayed at how the country is becoming more and more polarised. It seems you're either a right wing religious zealot, a self-righteous liberal, or just a plain dumb complacent moron. There seems to be hardly anyone in between anymore.
Also, look at the media over here.. . I've given up on American television news. It's all just degenerated into a cheap ratings war. Thank goodness I get the BBC which at least tries to keep the news as the main focus and not the blabbering talking heads we have to endure on the networks!
Anyway, my tirates not gonna change the world but at least it's given me something to reflect on and maybe even act on. Something that, that other 49% should start doing more of?
