Perhaps if I didn't write or teach or negotiate problems all day long, I'd have more energy for keeping a journal...Maybe I rationalize because I can't stand small talk; honestly, there's too much going in the world...Maybe I don't take myself seriously enough to believe that others care what wine I drank last night...Maybe I'm just too serious? 
I wish I knew a better way than wine and coffee to motivate my work...

You can write about anything in your journal. And don't think of it as a journal. That sound so damn serious. Just think of it as a place to weed and nurture your thoughts. Kind of like a garden, but a small patch of words you tend and allow others to visit.
