I may be straight but I have to give props to Ira Glass. I can understand why there are a lot of girls at work that have a crush on him. It isn't just the puppy dog eyes...but when he looks at you, when he talks. It seems like he genuinely cares. For those that haven't listened This American Life you should check it out. If that doesn't strike your fancy try Radio Lab.
Today I kind of played hooky. I actually couldn't sleep last night. I didn't go to work yesterday. J and I stayed in bed all day. We haven't done that for like 4 years. We haven't had the time. It was really nice. It totally relaxed me. It is not just the intimacy, which was great and with our opposing schedules the lack of it is not from lack want, but just not possible to have enough time. When we are together it usually takes on the reality of a wedding in a little bit over a year in a place that is hard to book...so we have to plan now.
If anyone hasn't heard of the Tetons...I feel bad for you. The area is some of the most magical spaces in the world. It is one of the few spots where you can see somethings that are fairly untouched by humanity. Sure their are tourists, but even with a few hundred or thousand of those...it is less than any day in NYC and they all want to see geysers in the National Park next door. Yellowstone.
I felt good last night. I watched some John Adams. I wrote for a good 2 hours. Sure I couldn't sleep but I was able to read a whole book. Sherman Alexie is a fantastic author. I just finished The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian it was amazing, and it made me happy, and it made me stay up all night.
I feel artistic today. I think being away from work has helped. I am going to finish another mask today...or if I decide not to, to at least work on some jewelry...so I am typing this to distract myself...crap. ok I better stoop and do it. Tah.
