me too, oddly enough. . . nah, i never feel older anymore when birthdays come around. i spent a lot of my mid to late twenties having anxieties about turning 30, and now i just kind of shrug my age off. i don't - most of the time - feel any older than i did when i graduated from art college, even though i've been and lived. . . all over the place and done so much since. i still like birthdays though. and cake. never say no to cake.
my day was pretty good. started off with signing papers to move into a new apartment and - thus - out of my mom's where i've been staying since i came back to the UK from sweden. . . i've been desperately needing my own personal breathing sapce for weeks, so. . . it was a nice little thing to start the day with.
hope you had a good day, in spite of your trepidation

Happy birthday, lass
Well.
as ever life is speeding along for little tall blackink. i'm still with the 4 jobs but i'll be leaving the theatre this week as its taking up time and commitments i dont have space for, plus its uh shit and not really doing anything for me.
there is an opportunity for a new 4th job as a copy writer which i'll be ringing...

hey. . . . happy birthday
ok...new post. forgive any ramblings, but i'm a little tipsy
work stuff is going well, i've progressed from 2 jobs to 4 and life has certainly been upping it's pace of late which means i have less time to sit around and think about how i'm failing at achieving my high standards and what a giant hash brown i have made of all the opportunities...

hope you get on well with the graduate scheme thingamabob.
it can be difficult to adjust back into things after you've travelled. i recently came back to the UK after a year and a half or so living in sweden, and i feel like i'm having this big crisis right now over whether to accept teh path my life has been on and the things i've done previously, or to in some way reach higher, be bolder and grab at things i previously wouldn't have attempted to. i'm sure i'll figure it all out, of course, but it's the initial readjustment and then the acceptance of just going ahead with doing what you feel is right, that can be a bit of a funk to get through.
good luck, again

sorry you got turned down for the graduate scheme. did you get any decent feedback from them as to why? ah well, good luck with whatever plans you make now

okies, firstly the reason i am but a pair of eyes, is down to the coma of my computer a few weeks ago, whereby everything was wiped off the system. although i've now got the internet back, photoshop is as of yet not programmed in. and what with the weeny teeny proportions of images needed, i haven't been able to add any to this site...

eating some liver sausage (mmm)
getting my Tool tickets
walking home in a hurry
some vile conversations with my favourite man

isn't it strange how the littlest things can make you feel better?
yesterday i mentally ended a chapter of my life that has, of late, been neither fun nor good for my self esteem. i think i was kind of rolling along with things and assuming that life would take its natural course, but something snapped last night and i (quite rightly) decided to take...

today was a good day.
i've made some big decisions and little decisions and read through loads of paperwork and actually understood what it was all saying (i hate those days where everything seems really adult and grown up and despite a degree in this damn language i can't understand all the posh words )
so, i've now sorted myself with some (very) part...

That's a lot of news yer a busy lass.
There's some truth to the dandelion thing - they are a mild diuretic. Common folk remedy for purifying the urinary tract and bladder, given to children very often, hence it's most common name other than dandelion - wet-the-beds. Or 'piss-the-beds' in many places (pish-the-beds in Scotland). In France they are called pissenlit.
Young dandelion leaves are put in salads sometimes alongside lettuce, rocket, etc - tasty (but not enough to make you wee everywhere).

oh dear.
Last week Dad ran his fortnightly virus aware programme on our home computer and in between the process of temporarily disabling files/ updating bits (or something??) the silly machine managed to put itself in some sorry coma which my Dad and I have been trying to muddle out ever since. I say I, if hanging around making cups of tea and hoping to...

If you get an email account at Yahoo, and send yourself stuff, then your email is held on their server while the account is active. That means you can use it to keep backups .

Dandelions: it's not picking them, it's eating them. They make good salad, I hear, but I've never tried.
Good luck...

The Plan: Maidstone has had it's three month deadline to provide me with some long term, short term, temporary term employment. As money is now scarce and summer excitement looms, I'm going to get myself some bar work whilst I a) gain some work experience b) study for a further technical theatre qualification c) find something more permanent (still got another 11 to post this...

rah. enough of that sad nonsense. it's friday! i've picked up my car and it's brightening up my driveway nicely, written some more job applications, planned some grand adventures to do next week and made a cookie which looked like an artist's pallette with different flavoured icing (fake paint) blobs. it wasn't for me, but it looked quite scrumptious.

Hey, thanks for the kind comments. Kafka, eh? I've never read him but always wanted to. I hear references to him all the time. I just got back for the local Real Estate and Wealth Expo. Gonna be a millionaire soon. You watch me. Then I'll sit around all day mooning and thinking up droll artist statements ;-).
