Grupo Fantasma
Hello,
Last week from Studio B in the Catskills I had a special show for my listeners. For the first half of the show I presented the 2nd installment of a new live music series that featured a performance by Grupo Fantasma (http://grupofantasma.com) from the 2008 Telluride Jazz Celebration (http://telluridejazz.org). This is a band barreling out of Austin, TX that works their audience into a frenzy and keeps you dancing all night long. They are currently on tour so check them out.
The series kicked off the previous week with a performance by the Neville Brothers. The podcast from that show is available online at the Radio Johnson website. Through out the rest of this month and into September I will be broadcasting a new live performance each week courtesy of the good folks from the Telluride Jazz Celebration and TCT12. Telluride Jazz flew me out to be apart of their celebration and opened the door for me to numerous interviews with some musical greats.
Coming up in the weeks ahead music and interviews from:
Dr. John
Bettye LaVette
Joe Lovano
and
Maceo Parker
As always for the second half of the radio show my man DJ Concerned held down the 1s & 2s. He's one of the hardest working DJ's in Brookyln holding down weekly parties and of course the monthly jump off Back To Brooklyn! Speaking of which the line up for August is insane it's this FRIDAY!!!
