I downloaded yWriter from Space Jock a few months ago and was really into the software, the program allows you to save each chapter as an individual file and within the program itself you can control each scene individually within each scene or move them between scenes entirely. I always thought it was neat but three days ago I started working on this idea that had been spinning itself in my head for a while; a fantasy colonial empire at war with the desert sultanate and the Romeo and Juliet of a good little noble girl falling in love with the sultan's oldest son. It's all very scandalous I'm sure. Why it's important, however, is that I've finally realized why yWriter is so amazing.
I always thought it was cool but now I think it's indispensable.
Its not just that I can work on each individual scene in seperate windows, it's that I can move them about within chapters, get exactly how many words are in each scene, toy around with placement, list exactly what needs to be done in the chapter and jump around within those scenes as the fancy takes me.
In three days time I've written nearly 10000 words and that isn't including the 4000 I lost sometime that second night and had to make up amid some very impressive cursing at my computer.
On the topic of my laptop I've finally named him: Victor Mancha.
Years of great sex to anyone who can tell me where I got that name from.
I also added the Bat symbol in sparkly purple nailpolish and an SG sticker because that's pretty much my life. Gorgeous girls, Batman and the Batfamily [Nightwing, Robin, Red Hood, Oracle, BatGirl, BatWoman although Red Hood is arguable] and my writing.
Oh but I bought the Mighty Leaf Tea sampler pack and I'm greatly enjoying testing out all the flavours. Breakfast Americana is nice, not as night as that Revolution Organic Scottish Breakfast but still very nice. I'm still looking for more of the white tea earl grey I found a few months ago and am now out of. It's depressing not to have my favorite tea.
God sometimes I'm such a little old English lady its not even funny.
I'm working a particularly long week this week which is both good and bad. On the one hand I absolutely have no desire to go slog through an eight hour shift in Florescent Crack Baby Bitch Daycare of Hell on the other however this does bode well for my next paycheck and the saving up to go camping.
Jenell at work always asks me how my edge is because now we're both straight edge. Going to Cortes with the boys plus Jack the Girl is going to put a big dent in my edge but I'm sure I can sharpen it again at a later date.
Good lord. It's monsooning outside, I'm sure. The rain comes in these little bursts, five minutes of raining, three of pouring, five mintues of raining, three of pouring and so on. Walking home in it was not fun although being righteous about it afterwards was.
Miss my papa, he's on the island and I never see him any more. Mum misses him to but she's off doing something out of town too so I'm missing both of them. I'm going to miss them even more when she actually moves over to be with him. I don't think I want to live in the city by myself. Who will I go to when my laundry needs doing or I want dinner but I've spent too much on comics and teeshirts to afford it?
And tea. I spend a lot of fancy fucking tea.
I'm such a douche sometimes.
Ah, well, I'm off to play in the rain and write some more.
Ta.
