I can't handle this anymore. Not only the nailbiter we've got going in my home state, but the right-wingers running the SG politics newswire. WTF? It's not like we haven't noticed your Instapundit posts, Totten. Keep your opinion over there, or in your journal -- don't present it as "news."
To think I believed Legionnaire censoring my Bush-related newswire contribs was a fluke... silly me. Heaven forbid we should point out his irrational behavior!
Black Box Voting has just started making the largest Freedom of Information Act request in history. Electronic voting machines may have been hacked, and who can forget Diebold's owner promising to "deliver" Ohio for Bush? Please, if you have money to spare, give them something to support the effort.
Here in Cuyahoga County, where Kerry currently has 67% of the vote and counting, there were lines at the polls BEFORE 6:30 a.m. yesterday. I was in line, in the dark and rain. That doesn't happen when you're supporting the status quo. But it's coming down to provisional ballots, and our corrupt Republican state government. (Yes, I'm looking at YOU, Ken Blackwell. I'm looking at you, and I'm pissed off). Provisional ballots are 2004's hanging chads.
Kerry had better not concede. Palm Beach last time, my city this time -- Cuyahoga will go for Kerry if Blackwell doesn't pull a Katherine Harris, and it's the provisional and absentee ballots that will do it. And If it doesn't, I'll bitch all I want, Totten. Until you turn me in to your dark Republican overlords, anyway. Does Gitmo have wifi?
I'm sick of fundamentalists running things. I'm sick of inappropriate insertion of religion into the public sphere. (Not to be confused with this kind of insertion). The Republicans arent even Republican anymore, theyre religious fanatics.
Read the article about Bushs White House in the latest Playboy. The title should tell you all you need to know: "Holy War". This blog post references another article by the same author which contains much of the same info as Playboy's).
Read Ron Suskinds NYT article. (KingMattias - you'll be surprised to learn Bush thinks your country doesn't have an army! Add that to the clueless file. But the fact no one would step up to contradict his ignorant ass is even scarier. Maybe instead of carting Bibles around the White House, someone should invest in an encyclopedia!)
Since when is Christian fanaticism more acceptable than any other kind? Fundamentalists want to enforce their moral view on the rest of us. Osama wants the USA to convert; they want us to repent -- what is the difference?
And as for Issue One -- if you voted for it, or any of the similar pieces of legislation on ballots around the country, dont ever talk to me again, because you are clearly insane. I have a lot of friends who are going to be deeply affected by that idiotic piece of governmental overkill. If my boyfriends company werent so cheap, I would be affected by it. What? DOMA wasnt enough for you? You have to gild the lily? Why not bend over and let the insurance companies take you from behind? Don't expect them to pay for lube, either. That's what this all boils down to, in case you weren't paying attention. To keep up their profit margins, insurance companies try to insure as few people for as little coverage as possible. They recoup money wherever they can. (Did you know if you win a personal injury lawsuit, your insurance company gets paid back for whatever they spent on your medical bills out of YOUR settlement? They didn't spend a dime on your lawyer, or anything else, but they get paid anyway. Bling bling!) The insurance companies are worried that a whole new set of people eligible for coverage through their domestic partners -- GAY OR STRAIGHT -- are going to diminish their considerable profits. Screw you, insurance companies. So you have coverage? Lucky you. If I get hit by a bus tomorrow, you're going to end up paying for it in higher premiums eventually, kitten. Kerry's reinsurance plan makes sense. Bush doesn't.
Courage, my loves. It ain't over til it's over.
