I'm heading out to Beirut, Lebanon for six months. (Yay, car bombs.)

Syria, Iran, Egypt, and Jordan are also on my itinerary since I'll be in the neighborhood. Y'all keep an eye on things for me while I'm away.

If anyone is interested in six months worth of political reporting, travel writing, and "muddy boots" analysis, this is the place.

Wow your piece POLITICS: "It's Like a Phish Concert for Terrorists" was great. Most Americans have no idea how complicated the middle east is. There aren't just the "good guys" and the "bad guys." Was it Sun Tzo who said "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." The line about other Middle East countries thinking about pursuing Nukes because of Iran (not Israel) is truly terrifying. Keep us posted, your writing is great.

I just read your interview with Professor Barry Rubin and it gave some interesting insight. I don't agree with his theory that flipping Syria's strong ties with Iran is basically impossible.. but I could talk for hours about that. Are you going to post it on here? It could generate some interesting discussion and is pretty relevant right now....
