Good Good things.I am scrambling like a mad man!
I am going back to Texas soon to visit. I am going to meet my father in Austin so we can hangout a bit. I havent seen him for a while so its about time. Damn I miss my family. I am also going to get to see some of my friends that I havent seen since I left Austin a year and a half ago. I was in Austin about a year ago but I didnt visit hardly any friends because I was dedicating the trip to spending time with ____ _______( I dont say her name anymore). That is the other weird thing about the trip. It is going to be weird being in the same city as her. I really hope I dont see her out cause as far as big cities go Austin is a pretty small and the scenes are even smaller. Either way I should have a blast seeing mi gente!
So I went down to the whistle stop again tonight for there Down-Tempo/IDM/Chill night. There was a bigger scooter/bike crowd that migrated over from 2-wheel Tuesday that used to go on @ Live Wire. No one was really into the music except me I think. I went up to the DJ to ask him about a song they were playing and cause I thought it was a Boards of Canada track but it happened to be a Nautilus track. A little later after the DJ was done he came up to me and started asking me if I enjoyed the music and told me that Nautilus was playing next week @ the Casbah. It just so happened that he puts together loads of great IDM shows around town and runs a record label of which I happen to have a few releases. He also runs Imputer.com who is putting on the Nautilus show. Along with that, he is also one of the performers and goes under the name Snodgrass. So we get to talking and I ask who does his flyers (I always ask that..hehe) cause I um do a little computer art. He said he did but he would be interested in seeing some of my art so I e-mailed him some links and I am waiting to here back. Either way I am just glad to meet up with someone that is obviously really dedicated and who is doing things around town.
So that may be a possible creative outlet in the future. I would love to make some flyers for them. I think my new work would fit nicely with some experimental electronic flyers. I have also been offered to do some flyers for these rock/metal shows going down @ Brick by Brick. I am also going to be helping my friend Archie out with some image creation for one of his clients that runs a hip-hop video website. They sell music, b-boy videos and thats ort of thing. I am pretty excited about that too cause the guys he is working for are old school L.A. poppers. They were around when it was all happening. I am enjoying to the chance to work with so many people on so many varied projects. I mean I am doing work for a hop-hop site, some metal shows, and some Emo/IDM shows. I am pretty versatile and I think I can pull it off but its just hard to be in so many creative places at once. I am happy that work has really just been falling in my lap. It is soo great. I have finally reached a point in my art that I dont have to sell myself cause my work does the talking for me. I love it. Hopefully soon I will have enough regular clients that I can quit my bill paying job and work on art 24/7!!! Thats my dream anyhow.
Sides all that, I have been scrambling to figure out how the fuck I am going to get my work framed and ready for this art show I am having on a budget of nil. I just finished a small promo book for myself to show to galleries so I am going down to the caf tomorrow to speak with the owner, scope out the space, and show him my art. I think he will be pleased.
I am wearing myself out lately. I have been keeping myself soooo fucking busy it is just plain crazy. I hope my body holds out. I havent even had time to work on my homepage much. I just finished the LAST draft of the Doodle Bug Pictorials project. I will put it online as soon as I can. The layout is nothing special. I mean it looks nice but it is more tedious work than anything else. Mass amounts of scanning, and image clean up, and layoutyuck
So life is treating me good. Its beating me around a bit but that is a good thing. If anything I am just putting too much onto myself but I always tend to do that. I am a certified workaholic! Save me from myself. Bad eating habits, bad sleeping habits, work work work. I guess that is a pretty standard lifestyle for a freelance graphic artist huh? I am used to it. Its just sometime life hands me more than I can handle and who am I to say no to a gift?!?

Sounds like things are good for you! that is rad. Keeping busy is good but yes...you need to make sure to take care of yourself, shweets.
I should go visit my family soon too. I miss em. They are all crazy.
hey - i'll view the source of a html page of yours or two and write css & then clean up your html w/ css to show you how to do it. then you can learn it by the file i write and implementing it into the rest of your site & changing the css if you want something i did to be different. that's how i learnt, all self-taught too. but i always insist on doing shit ass-backwards so i learnt how to do layouts with css beofre i learnt how to do them with html. which is not really a good thing.
ok soon pretty blue boy.
