I am going 1000 miles roundtrip. Probably a lil more like 1400 to be accurate. Im going to the mountains for the holidays, I want to escape the urban landscape for a lil while. Then I have to work out of town for new years and again on the 3rd. I am excited though, I havent gotten away in a long time. Work Work Work Work. Plus Im doing my first ever dj event with a friend on the 6th. I will be exclusivly playing 60's and 70's garage/rock/surfy-instru stuff from mainly Turkey and a coupla other middle eastern countries, its my current musical obsession, but that changes like the wind. As far as Sue making it 1200 miles, goes to show what I was talkin' 'bout. Don't make 'em like they used too. Twue Wuv, zee onzee kine zof wuv. Having a happy winter solstice?

Ahhh.....mice. They look so innocuous but when you find they've been chewing on your corn flakes it makes you feel like they've just been pullin' a fast one on ya; " Oh we're just cute w'ittle meesez, we wouldn't do nuffin bad ....wheelie!" But boy when your sittin' up late at nite and can hear them somewhere in your kitchen tryin' to infest your tender viddles with those oh so copius little turds, or worse yet , passin' out on the couch and waking up cause you felt something small and furry run across your leg.........it's clobberin' time!!! Tom and Jerry shit. Glue traps don't work. The only thing I've had work yet is Ye Olde Snappy Traps w/ a little cheese or bread. But you've got to tie it to a string so they can't just pull it off gently and walk away w/ the goods. Warning ...the results are not for the squeamish. It is always an ugly demise for the rodent.
'59 !? Schooo.....that's an oldie. Oldest vehicle I've owned was a 64 F-100. You couldn't kill that beast short of drivin' it off of a cliff. As far as auto restoration goes...as I'm sure you know the main things you will need are time, workspace, tools, patience, a friend who is a kick ass mechanic who will work for beer, a Chiltons book on the car, (if they have 'em for such an old model), oh yeah......and a fair amount of disposable cash. Mainly time and cash though I'd say.
There is alot to be said for anyone who get's thier hands dirty. Even just doing your own simple maintenence like an oil change, let not others do for you what can be done by thy owns't self. I think that is a big problem w/ people in western culture....they always let everyone else do everything for them and never feel that satisfaction one gets from fixing something with nothing but thier brains and apendages. As far as not knowin' much about bieng a mechanic goes allow me to quote the all too quoted Lenny Bruce.......
"The first guy who ever jumped out of a plane w/ a parachute on had never done it before.....you just jump schmuck!"
