i think you're reading it right. the guy that i'm totally in love with is also stand offish, but more so like he controls his emotions so that things are the way that he thinks they rationally should be. so i invested all this emotion and he felt the same thing, but then decided the distance between us was crazy and just shut it all off, like that. it was just really confusing to me and i felt kind of jerked because i did invest all that feeling and i couldn't make it go away like he could.
