Just a quick update for y'all...
Friday I drove to my hometown of Leavenworth, which is just north of Kansas City, because my grandmother took a major turn for the worst.
She passed late Monday night / early Tuesday morning.
I just got back to Texas Wednesday, and have been busy with work since. Just trying to stay focused.

So... update time...

Grandmother is still in the hospital. She has really bad infections in her legs, and to hear my grandfather say it, she's given up, and is pretty much ready to die.
Maybe it's because I'm still young, or maybe it's because death scares the ever loving shit out of me, but I can't even IMAGINE wanting to die...

*sigh* My grandma is in the hospital again. She lost consciousness during dialysis, and so they rushed her to the ER. She has an infection in her legs, her blood sugar is 35, they can't seem to get it up, and she isn't getting enough oxygen.

Wow... it's been over a month since I've blogged on here.
I would love to say that a lot has been going on and that I've just been so busy having fun that I haven't had time to write anything, but the truth is that other than putting in 50+ hours a week a work it's been pretty boring.

Went to the Crackhead Barrel for dinner yesterday, and the hostess had her cheeks pierced (the dimple piercings...?). I thought it was rather cute, but also noticed that it was just the stem of the piercing sticking out, and not the diamond or ball or whatever. Basically they made her take them off so it would be less noticeable.

My wife is out of town until tomorrow afternoon, and I am just sitting around... doing nothing...

So... my boss has been promoted... which means that I'm now in extreme training to take over. This is freaking GREAT news because it will mean a HUGE raise when they finally give me the go ahead.

I'd be able to repurchase all my books as hardbacks and get rid of all those paperbacks!!!...

Went to IKEA and picked up some bookshelves today. I got two of the larger ones, filled them up, and realized that I still have boxes of books that are still packed away.
God DAMN I read a lot.

But, now that I have some nicer bookshelves, I am looking at going back and getting some of my paperbacks in hardback.

Finally finished the week from hell. Now to relax and prep myself for next week, which should be much better.

I joined a gym yesterday. I love to read, and I figured I could park my fat ass on a stationary bicycle and read while burning calories, so that maybe I won't be such a fat ass anymore.

Wow... so like I have SOOOOOOOO been working crazy ass hours this week.

I normally work five eight hour days, but today when I clocked in (day 4), I already had 34 hours for the week, and hit overtime almost 2 hours before I clocked out... And I still have to work tomorrow.
Tuesday, I put in a 17 and a half hour day.
