Love's Alignment
We were star-crossed lovers. The Universe aligned for us for a week of entangled limbs, pressed lips, our breath tied into a knot. We did more for each other than we dreamed possible. We fell in love more than we dared. We shared stories over dinner, bullshit over beers, discoveries in lavender clouds.
We held on to each other, we never knew it would be this wonderful. He showed me the city, I revealed my soul. We fell in love with us. The world couldnt knock us down no matter how many drinks.
My favorite parts were when I looked into his eyes. Over the table, under the sheets, across the room, in the middle of the street. Ive spent countless hours trying to figure out what color his eyes were. Grey or Blue.
The sunlight peaked through the tree branches, a halo for the angel I had to leave. Knocked out of heaven and back to the world that felt heavier. I kissed him in the sunbeams and drove back to reality, back to another mans eyes. The stars dont shine so bright anymore.
