Man, what a shitty weekend. On thursday I was going to go to Sapphire's to see if I could run into BANKKY there, because that place isn't far away from my apartment. Instead, I got a call from one of my friends who says he's in Fond Du Lac with a car that broke down and he needs a ride back to Appleton. I knew this is the same friend who drove all the way up to Minneapolis for me to help me move, so I couldn't tell him no. By the time I got back, it was too late for anything.
Then I went on two dates in two nights - ugh! One didn't go well at all, the other one went okay but there was no spark between us.
The first date was on Friday night. This girl was incredibly self centered. Our date plan was to drive up to door county and go to a couple shops and then stop at a wine bar. The drive was a little over an hour from Green Bay. Throughout the whole time span of the date she talked all about herself, ESPECIALLY her past boyfriends (don't people know that it's a basic dating "no no" to dwell on past relationships?) but never asked anything about me. The only time she would ever know anything about me is if I butted into her self-centered rant and said "oh that happened to me once" or "yeah I have something like that at home" or whatever. Eventually I said to her "Well I know all this stuff about you, is there anything you'd like to know about me?" And she was like "Ummm.....well.....no not really." By the time we got to Door County all the shops were closed (they close at 5pm, we found out), except for the wine bar. We also dined at a restaurant in Green Bay because we were hungry by the time we got back. At the end of the date she says to me "I had a great time, I don't think I laughed this much on a date in a long time" and I'm thinking "What did I do that made you laugh? You literally could have went on a date with a mannequin and had the same good time."
The worst part about this is I took a half-day off from work to go on this date, because it seemed that we clicked really well. Instead I wound up wasting most of my night and wasting $55.
The second date was Saturday night, the ol' dinner-and-a-movie thing. It was a girl I used to work with when I was at Best Buy. I was attracted to her but I'm not sure if she recipricated it, most of the time she had her arms crossed. We had good conversation but that was it. She had to go home early because she had to work at 6am the next day. Not sure if I'll go out with her again either.
I think I already know what my New Year's Resolution is going to be. "No More Dating".
My pocketbook would not be able to take any more of it.

I've been on to many dates where, yeah-either conversation or body language tells a completely different story. But don't give up man...
