After the results of the election, I have three things to do tonight: Drink, drink, drink.
Libertarian Michael Badnarik, whom I voted for, didn't even crack 2% which is far, FAR lower than I expected. However, he collected more votes than both the Green Party candidate and the Constitution Party candidate combined, so that's good. Also, the Libertarian candidate's voting total increased by about 40,000 votes compared to 2000, so that's another improvement.
However, I was hoping Badnarik would get close to 3-5% of the popular vote. Oh well. Arif Khan, the Libertarian candidate for Senate didn't crack 2 percent either - fuck!
But I guess the only thing I can do is perservere on and next election make sure I'm not just giving money to a political party but also helping out in campaign duties to spread the word out faster.
If the Republicans are the small-government advocates they SAY they are, then they would take the opportunity in the next four years to privatize social security, de-regulate health care and end the war on drugs. Knowing their history, however, 90 percent of them are full of shit. We're in for four years of hell. And that brings us back to more drinking.
In lighter news, I saw the Social Distortion/Tiger Army show last night - the show was awesome, they both kicked ass. I went by myself
but I had fun regardless. I was more there to see Tiger Army, but Social D was awesome. For those Social D fans - is there a CD that's your favorite? I'm thinking of picking up one of their albums but I don't know where to start.
