Saturday night I went to a party at a friend's house. I was told the party was for my friend Stephanie, but I didn't know why until I got there. Apparently she is going to be deployed to Iraq this Wednesday for two years. She's actually excited about it, ironically. Unfortunately in a very bad turn of events, at around 3am she walked by a pool table while somebody was playing, and she got jabbed really bad in the eye from a pool cue. It was so bad, she was brought to the hospital and she had to go through emergency eye surgery to repair her cornea, because her cornea folded from the pool cue hitting it! They are running some tests on her right now, chances are she will miss her deployment date and she may not go afterall because she has barely any sight at all in that eye.
But the rest of the night was fun regardless. I ran into a girl haven't seen in over 4 years; and this girl I've had a crush on since I first met her. Last time I saw her it must have been over 4 years ago; and she was dating some dude so I let it go and went off to college. When I saw her at Saturday's party I was hoping she was single, but dammit, she's still with the same guy and living in some small town like Slinger or something. It's just too bad, because whenever we start talking our conversation goes on for hours and hours, and it happened again at the party like the four-year gap never happened - we started talking and we just kept going. Oh well, her loss, too bad she's still with that same guy because she'd have a blast with me.
I'm going to plug a comic book right now. Torso, written by Brian Michael Bendis and Marc Andreyko, is a great murder mystery based upon the true story of the Torso serial killings in Cleveland in the early 1930's. The black-and-white use is great, and the story is incredible fascinating and well-told. For more info go here.
In other news, I'm registering to vote tomorrow. On November 2nd, I'm voting straight Libertarian ticket. Kerry and Bush all look the same to me, I hate both of their platforms. If you don't like either candidate like me, go to this site and see if the party's platform is closer to your beliefs. Remember, you only waste a vote when you vote for something or someone you don't believe in...

Awesome to hear you're voting libertarian
about the tattoos, i have a victorian floral design in shape of triangle in the small of my back and a mandala with a Katsushika Hokusai style wave (very similar to "In the Hollow of a Wave off the Coast at Kanagawa") inside on my back between my shoulder blades.
next one: one or two peacock feathers either on the ribs or somewhere on my back... i'm looking to cover up the victorian floral print...
sucks for your friend, hope she feels better!
