OK
It has occured to me that I don't eat enough! I was going to blog this but have just applied to join the SGMotorcycles group so I'll bump the "oh my god I starve myself without knowing it" topic to another night.
Tonights blog is an expansion of my application to join the motorcyclists group.
How it started:
Explaining my relationship with bikes makes me think I should blog it, so I'll condense a rough cv. Let me say I don't really know heaps about bikes and haven't replaced any of my tools since my shed got ripped off.
I was so pissed off when my house was knocked off, because the back door to my shed wasn't locked (you can easily get in throught the window anyway) The insurance company didn't cover all my tools. I've been collecting them since I was a teen and can't afford to replace them all. So the break in really sucked for me.
Now:
Yep I'm on that v11 guzzi at the moment and the brembos under hard brakes sound fantastic .
Two weekends I passed an R1 on the outside on my third attempt on the right road she ain't too bad! Last weekend it pulled distance on a GSXR1000, CBR1000RR and a CBR954. Obviously my mates let me to pretend I can go fast too sometimes.
The V11 is actually a "Balabio" so has high bars and is fantastic for the ride to work. At the moment I'm riding it very hard on the weekend. Top speed might be 210kph but mostly I keep it under 180kph.
My Aprilia RSVR1000 Factory is still being rebuilt after I crashed it in a race incident (I got into second ). I can't afford to keep racing so It will have to go .
The Factory is a lovely bike and hits about 237kph at the track, it can go faster but I used to stuff up thte turn before the back kink most laps. Definitley can go another couple of seconds quicker but don't think it's worth the expoense to keep racing. I checked my budget last night and my god I spent a lot on racing! The ohlins suspension on the bike rocked but you have to experience that for yourself! Should be some pics of it here.
Future:
I'm toying with the idea of getting a BMW R1200S to do double duty when the mille goes, can't do it now cos I'll loose too much on the guzzi .
I'm getting lazy and like the idea of a shaft drive!
Past:
20 something years of riding but didn't get into sports bikes until 1994 when I got a YZF600.
Some road bikes I've had:
82 GSX250
83 GSX550
86 RG250
87 GSX1100F
94 YZF600
95 YZF750
Some time off here after seperating my shoulder at a track day.
00 S4 Monster
01 SL1000
03 RSV1000
04 RSVR1000Factory
86 R65
04 V11Sport Balabio
Almost forgot, I've had a couple of high sides and been hit by a car before so I understand that stuff
Wow that took longer than expected. I could rant about bikes for hours but won't since I should have been in bed an hour ago! I feel knackered, thats why I checked out my calorie intake...
...but that's for another blog!
Cheers
