Last night i had the wonderful pleasure of getting together with a couple of the local southern new england ladies, and that was such a blast! I was so glad to meet @rondel and @ameline and get some well overdue hang time in with @rhody_. of COURSE we took a sundies for you all ;)
@ameline has really inspired me to be more active on here, despite having a really shitty computer (this blog has taken me 2 days!) and to put effort into what i post. so hopefully you'll see more of me! haha.
Okay, now the homework :)
I'm pretty excited to do this homework actually! the topic this week is "who is your favorite fiction character and why?"
The reason i'm pretty excited about it is because it gives me an opportunity to talk about the SG name i chose!
Bayta Darell is a character in Issac Asimov's Foundation series (HIGHLY RECOMMEND, OBVIOUSLY), and while i love everyyy single character in that series, thanks to Asimov's fantastic character development, Bayta really resonated with me, despite only being a central character for one book out of 7. She's a brave woman who sided with the galactic empires opposition for the good of the people, and played the main role in defeating the major enemy in the series. But she did so with intelligence, logic and confidence and by being observant. she was a war hero by outsmarting an incredibly smart enemy and using of all things compassion and empathy. One of the things i love about her is that she didnt set out to be a hero, she just happened to notice something no one else did and she happened to be put in a situation where she could do something and she did, and she did so her way. she had to make hard choices and did so with confidence.
okay, that's enough with the book report.
i do have other homework in a way, the SMFA art sale is coming up, and even though i graduated, it's open to alumni so i need to get to work haha. i have many many many unfinished pieces going on right now. sometime it can be stressful, but i love it. I'll be sure to share finished pieces when i actually finish something.....
otherwise, ive been working a ton, painting a ton, was sickkk for a bit, and have been saving up for the providence tattoo convention! Hopefully a bunch of the local ladies will be coming down for that and crashing at my apartment. I hope i see more of them in general. every single girl i've met through SG has been a real gem. And they're real women. I don't usually get along with chicks so well, but the girls in this community are truly wonderful human beings.
right now though, it's time for some Patriots football.
<3 until next time!
